Barge

The cardboard model is the exact reproduction of a self propelled barge used for European inland navigation which has always been of great importance for transporting goods.
The waterway network is an important addition to road and rail. In order to make it easier for inland navigation, over the centuries natural waterways were corrected, river banks stabilized and sluices constructed. Nowadays in Europe inland navigation has a well-developed waterway network. Canals connect the big rivers. Typical goods are stone, earth, ore, coal, metal waste, machines and vehicles.
